The South East European Research Centre (SEERC) is an international, multidisciplinary, non-profit research centre located in Thessaloniki, Greece. Research at SEERC addresses the broad range of economic, technological, political, social and cultural challenges facing an enlarged and enlarging Europe, and is organized around four broad areas of concern: i) Enterprise, Innovation and Development, ii) Information and Communication Technologies, iii) Governance, Politics and Society, and iv) Risk and Well-being. SEERC will be represented in the OrganiK project by its Information & Knowledge Management Research Cluster, a group with significant participation experience in EU-funded research projects and one of the most active research groups in SEERC. Researchers in the IKM cluster explore research questions in the domain of information and knowledge management through multidisciplinary lens, focusing on both theoretical and technological perspectives. Issues of interest include human-centred information management, social interactions and communities of practice, knowledge transformation and organisational learning, as well as the impact of knowledge management on organisational innovation strategies. From a technological standpoint, the group is investigating the application of Semantic Web technologies and techniques for information processing and knowledge management, with a particular emphasis on information systems interoperability and information integration.
